no longer able to use single or all stations manuallyDoes your controller still operate properly in automatic? There really isn't many things that will keep your controller from operating manually. If one zone just will not work, I would be apt to say that there could be a problem with your control valve or even a wiring issue with that zone. If all the zones will not work in manual, but will work in automatic I would say there is a problem with your controller itself. One other thing to consider, is if you have a rain sensor attached to your system, you could also have an issue with it which has faulted and left the circuit open. Also, do you have surge protection hooked up to your controller?19 Oct, 2009 1:23 AM
Sprinker on the grass is working fine but water drip very little on plant. Can I adjust the water drip?Drip emitters generally will put out from 1/2 to 4 gallons per hour. It sounds like your emitters are possibly sized too small for your needs. These emitters can be replaced with a larger diameter or rather larger flow emitter to increase the water supply to your landscaping.

There are some other things too that can also effect the performance of a drip irrigation system. If your drip system has an inline filter in place to filter the water prior to reaching the emitters, this filter could be partially plugged or need replacing. If you have a filter installed on your system, it may require a little looking around to find it. Depending on the installer, it could be anywhere from the main line between your point-of-connection (City Water tie-in) and the first control valve, or it may be installed individually only on the drip zone line. If this is the case, the filter would most likely be installed between the control valve for that zone and the first emitter. But as you have stated that the sprinklers for the yard are working normally, I would not suspect that a filter is installed between the POC and the first control valve.

Good luck, and if we can be of any further assistance, please don't hesitate to ask a question.

What is the most efficient way to water large flower pots and planters.Generally flower pots and planters are watered using a drip irrigation method. It's far easier to run the drip irrigation tubing to them, and is a much more efficient system of watering small areas such as these.5 Apr, 2011 3:17 PM
What is the most dependable system Hunter or Rainbird?
What valve is best and what sprinkler is best/
Both Hunter and Rainbird systems are both quality irrigation manufacturers. And as I feel you cannot got wrong with either system, it's best to choose a brand that offers the specific features you desire in a system.

But on sprinkler systems we install, we generally installed Rainbird controllers with Rainbird valves and Hunter sprinkler heads and rotors.

Not sure if that helps any.

I have a sprinkler system that is supplied by a pump in a lake. The lake is getting low and I would like to switch over to city supplied water. How can I tie into my lake supplied system and protect the integrity of each source. How can I switch from one to the other without duplicating valves and controllers. I don't want any leaching between sources. You will need to tap into your city supplied water supply and install a backflow device. This line will need to be tee'd into your existing lake fed water supply via a tee. Install a quarter turn ball valve on the lake supplied water line near the tee, as well as a quarter turn ball valve near the tee on the city supplied water supply. This will allow you to cut one or the other water supply on depending on the current water level of the lake.

By closing the ball valve on the lake supplied water supply and then opening up the water supply from the city, you will prevent leaching from the lake back into the city water supply.

I have Hunter EC 3 zones it is outside. My house was hit a lightnig
and several appliance were damage including the sprinkler system. Does this could damage the valves also or just the controller.

Thanks
Although it is possible that electrical voltage could travel down the wiring to the individual valves, it is difficult to decide until you have your controller back operating again.

I would initially replace the irrigation controller and then test east zone individually to see which ones might have incurred lightning damage.
